Pana Stamos is a Greek-American illustrator and mangaka based outside of New York City. She drew the pilot issue of The Nimbletons for Iris Print's BL Twist magazine and has been invited to pitch a manga series to Tokyopop after co-creating NO8DO: She Has Not Abandoned Me for the Rising Stars of Manga contest.
Trained mostly in the art of book and magazine illustration, Pana has also wriggled her way into the animation industry, providing the textures for a 3D-animated short called The Monster Within which airs between programs on the Nicktoons channel. Her illustrations of the story of Orpheus appear in the independent live action film Fractured (2006, directed by Danuta Klosowski). She currently works as a design consultant for Animagic Studios.
Pana's art draws its influences from a myriad of sources, including Asian pop culture, art nouveau, Pre-Raphaelitism, punk rock, children's books, ukiyo-e, and postmodern film. Her heroes include Quentin Tarantino, Takeshi Obata, Chiho Aoshima, Aleister Crowley, Junko Mizuno, David LaChapelle, Grigori Rasputin, and Yoshitoshi Abe. ♥
